Dec 20, 2010, Wison (Nantong) Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. officially completed delivery of the VS483 platform supply vessel to UP OFFSHORE. Wison has officially become the youngest company in China to carry out a shipbuilding project on this scale. It symbolizes a transition for Wison Heavy Industry to the next level in its ability to independently carry out a shipbuilding project.
The ship-owner is UP Bahamas Offshore Co., Ltd. The vessel is registered under the Bahamas Flag and classified as DNV, with a total length of 87.4 m, width of 19 m, depth of 8 m, draft of 6.65 m and a DP system. The internal structure is very complex and required highly skilled labour in construction of its electrical system. Since the project started on October 8, 2008, all departments including design, procurement, production, quality, safety as well as planning have been in close coordination with one another to ensure safe operation and assured quality. The project team worked closely together to overcome all kinds of difficulties and successfully delivered the vessel after two years of hard work. The project has received high commendations from both the owner and third-party.
