BASF Chongqing MDI Integration Project is Launched

Release time:2011-06-03

From the 1st to the 3rd of June, the Consortium made up from Wison (China) Engineering Co., Ltd. and the Daelim Corporation, together with BASF Polyurethane Chongqing, held a project start-up conference for the launch of the BASF Chongqing MDI Integration Project at the Shanghai headquarters of the Wison Group. Wison Engineering and Daelim Corporation will work as the project's general contractors, jointly responsible for the provision of engineering design, procurement and construction management services.

This is the first time that Wison Engineering will execute a large-scale chemical industry project together with an overseas engineering company. The MDI Integration Project will present Wison Engineering with new requirements and challenges in terms of scale of construction and difficulty of execution, and will also mark a milestone for the company in the area of international cooperation. About 150 people took part in the conference, which was meticulously prepared in each detail by the Wison Engineering and Daelim Corporation Consortium. Project directors from both BASF and the Consortium were on hand to give speeches, and technical personnel from BASF introduced the process flow of machinery. The Consortium's management team also presented reports on project execution strategies and plans, and detailed discussions were held in small groups.

BASF later positively acknowledged Wison Engineering and Daelim Corporation's efforts in the project execution planning process, and also highly praised the Consortium for successfully arranging the project start-up conference. Wison Engineering vowed that it will put its every effort in the provision of all resources required for this project, and closely cooperate with Daelim Corporation to ensure the project's successful execution.

On May 13th, BASF and the Consortium officially signed an EPCM contract (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management), and the three companies began working together in their joint office in Shanghai on May 23rd. It is expected that the project's detailed engineering design will be completed in 18 months, and that construction will commence in 2014.
