Largest Set of Hexene-1 Device Powered by Polyreaction Technology Achieves Successful Start-up

On 10 November 2014, Wison Engineering achieved the successful feeding and start-up of the first hexene-1 device to adopt domestic technology. Wison Engineering has received high praise from Dushanzi Petrochemical Company for the success and strength of this project.

Construction of the hexene-1 device officially commenced in April 2013 with production capacity reaching 20,000 tons a year; the hexene-1 packaged technology developed by the SINOPEC Research Institute of Petroleum Processing is a combination of catalyst, technique and reactor, and its successful application is considered a significant achievement among the institute’s major science and technology programs. The project faced various challenges given that it is the first hexene-1 device using domestic technology, and that the construction period was short. Wison Engineering, the PC contractor of the project, has displayed its strength in procurement and construction management and acted in strict compliance with the highest industry standards to ensure on-time delivery. The device has consistently generated high-quality products since its launch, with hexene purity exceeding 98.95%.

Hexene-1 consists of an important comonomer for high-quality polyethylene resin. Polyethylene copolymer modified by hexene-1 features excellent tensile strength, tear resistance, transparency and environmental stress crack resistance.
